MISANO – Aldo Festante started the Porsche Carrera Cup championship with a good performance, marked, however, by bad luck. In Race 1 the young driver opened fifth but failed to finish the competition. In Race 2, however, starting from the last position, Festante managed to climb the rankings finishing in the top ten.

Aldo Festante concluded the first round of the Porsche Carrera Cup, held from 04 to 06 June on the legendary Misano circuit, with an unfortunate result. The pilot’s familiarity with the track can be seen in the placement obtained in qualifying: fifth place. In Race 1, Festante started in a good position, which will be held until the unfortunate contact with another car, which forced the young pilot to retire prematurely from the competition. Remains a sour taste in the mouth for a hard-fought race that could have ended with a podium result. Despite this, Aldo did not let himself down and in Race 2, starting from the last position, he made his Carrera whiz between the cars of his opponents, in a climb that saw the young driver conquer twenty positions, ending the second round of the Romagna weekend in the tenth position.
From this performance, the potential of Festante is evident, who intends to face the second stage of the Porsche Carrera Cup concentrated, to be able to push his skills to the maximum, without encountering unfortunate events such as the one that occurred in Race 1. Meanwhile, the Capua native pilot is already working with the Ombra team to analyze what went wrong at Misano and prepare himself to guarantee a great competition at Mugello.

“We were competitive, we proved it in qualifying and in race 2, unfortunately, the contact in race one caused a lot of the work done to fall apart, at Mugello we will have to be more concrete.”
